Monthly meetings

We meet once a month at the Everhart Museum in Scranton. New faces are always welcome — no membership required to visit your first meeting.

When's the next one?

Dates & times are posted on Facebook

To keep things accurate, we post each month's meeting date and time on our Facebook group rather than printing a fixed schedule that can drift. Check there for the next meeting.

Next meeting: the last Sunday in September. Month-to-month dates are always on our Facebook group.

What to expect

Meetings are casual and friendly. Come as you are — curiosity is the only requirement.

A member giving a talk on Pangea and Pennsylvania geology, gesturing at a continental map on screen with fossils on the table
A members' program in full swing
Sparks fly during a hands-on mineral-testing demonstration at a meeting
A hands-on demo night
A club member teaching children about fossils at a meeting
Hands-on learning for young rockhounds

A warm welcome

Members of every age and experience level. Tell someone it's your first time and you'll have a guide for the evening.

Programs & show-and-tell

Most meetings include a short talk or demonstration, plus time to share recent finds and ask questions.

No pressure to join

Your first visit is free and open. If you like what you see, membership is $10 a year ($15 a household).
