About MSNEPA
A Northeastern Pennsylvania community of rockhounds, geologists, students, and hobbyists — gathering to share a love of minerals, fossils, and the lapidary arts since the 1970s.
A welcoming home for the curious
The Mineralogical Society of Northeastern Pennsylvania brings together people who love the earth and what's in it — from kids picking up their first crystal to lifelong collectors and working geologists.
We meet monthly, head into the field together to collect, and host the region's biggest gem and mineral show each spring. Whatever your age or experience level, you're welcome here: show up curious, and leave with a few new specimens and a lot of new friends.

Rockhounding NEPA since the 1970s
Five decades and counting
MSNEPA has been part of the Northeastern Pennsylvania earth-science community since the 1970s, growing from a small group of collectors into the society we are today. Our flagship event, the Treasures of the Earth Gem & Mineral Show, has welcomed families and collectors to the region for years.
We're digging the full charter story and club milestones out of the society's records — check back as we add to this page.
